Trusting
we are part
of a bigger story
frees us
to surrender
our brief lyric in time
to the creative love
of the Divine Poet.© 2015 Dennis Ference

If you are as displeased with the latest format of the WordPress “Reader” as I am and as I have discovered others to be I urge you to inform WordPress of your discontent. I am especially unhappy about how the Reader presents some material written in poetic form. They need our feedback.
An Open Poem to WordPress
If you’ve had your verse posts mangled in the “Reader” section as I have, let WordPress know.
Night Owl Poetry - Dorinda Duclos
Dearest WordPress,
I must confess
Lately, you’re playing with fire
The reader, you see
Has lost harmony
Line breaks is what we desire
Words jumbled together
It’s hard to tell whether
The verses are supposed to be mixing
Since I pay for my site
Hoping you’ll see the light
What ain’t broke, doesn’t need fixing
Better listen today
To what I have to say
Trust me, I’m not being coy
Take your Beep Beep Boop
And retire this goop
It’s obvious these changes annoy

Poetry
It snagged me late–
rescued me, truth be told–
at a time when old
passions and occupations
oozed mercilessly
from my soul.
It didn’t happen all at once
but in stages, like a well-planned
seduction: the sensuous play of words,
the grinding rhythms of song,
the fusing drone of prayer–each
enticed at the appointed time.
And when, at last, I stood
naked before its spell,
it planted itself deep
within the creative space and
charged me with the poet’s task–
to turn water into wine
and toast the delicate
marriage of mystery
and truth.
