When I was young,
I staunchly avoided
every sideways glance
Death threw my way.
Now that I am old,
I dare return even
those piercing stares
from Death’s deep, dark eyes,
trusting now that compassion,
in truth, rules the day.
Amen. A friend in my apartment is consciously dying right now. I will miss her and her stark honesty. I think I will live at least ten more years and friends here will go before me. I’m fortunate to have companions on this journey. P.S.We live in an ordinary apartment and have covenanted to help each other age in place right here.
Wisdom of Age.
Words most sage.
Always be prepared
for the turning of a page.

What a beautiful relationship. Blessings to both of you.
Thank you, Dennis.
Love that concept of Death’s sideways glance. Good to stare Death in the eyes now.
