Blessed am I…

Blessed am I
when I find myself
up against the wall,
for I must then learn again
that thoughts and feelings
have only the power I give them,
learn again, on a deeper level,
to listen, to trust, to risk, to forgive,
to surrender to an indwelling Presence
larger than my small self,
and to seek out the strengths
I surely have within, by the grace
of that larger Presence,
to grow and transform.
