Ambivalence

abstract-315255_1280

With mindful resolve,
I surrender control…
then furtively
I take it back…
give it up…
take it back…
give it up…
take it back…
And such is
a day in the life
of a pilgrim soul
struggling to learn
the humbling lesson
of human ambivalence.

    • What I hope to achieve is to express in words how much we all share. I believe there is strength and comfort in that. Thanks for the feedback. Peace! –Dennis

  1. so true and wonderful poetry too ( am i rhyming? lol ) it is that eternal wrestling between spirit and matter till base matter begins to arise to spirit’s excellence – for us Hindus that may take a million life times but never say no.
