We mend and renew the world
by strengthening inside ourselves
what we seek outside ourselves,
and not by demanding it of others
or trying to force it on others.
For me, Dennis, tolerance is a supreme virtue and you allude to it wonderfully here; that we ‘mend and renew’ i’m a little skeptical frankly but the intention and the thought behind it i admire very much.

And, indeed, In the end living a virtuous life has value whether a goal is reachable or not. Have a great day, John. Peace and thanks for sharing; –Dennis
I would put this in context that makes sense to me. Only when we know what it is within us that we need to strengthen can we let go of expecting and demanding of others…..
Thank you Dennis for sharing these thought provoking words!
