The Primacy of Love

What is sown
in the silent poverty
of wordless prayer
blossoms and bears fruit
in a daily life
in which one
comes to recognize
the absolute primacy of love
in every moment.

  1. Beautiful. I first encountered James Finley at a prayer retreat he led. I was seeking ways to experience contemplative prayer. I still have a well-worn copy of his Merton’s Palace of Nowhere on my book shelf.

    • His books are the kind that I go back to over and over again. Often, reading just a couple lines becomes the starter for my meditation. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Hi Dennis – I just wanted you to know that I nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award. There is a special tab on my blog for it. I don’t know if you do these or not (my first, probably last time) but I have a link there that will bring readers to your blog.

    • No, Laine, I decided not to do the award thing, but please know that I appreciate the nomination and your support. Would also like you to know that your blog is one I always look forward to reading. Peace, and again, thanks. –Dennis
